First Stop- Puerto Vallarta

Our first port stop was Puerto Vallarta. We got there on May 5th. It was our longest stop. We had pretty much all day to spend on land. This was the one that seemed a little more trickier and a little less fun. We had originally planned to take a Pirate ship excursion to an Island. Where they would do a Pirate themed act and then once your on the island they have kayaking, snorkling, and such. Along with breakfast, lunch, and drinks. Well we got off the boat to find out, it had been canceled and they had emailed us this on the 2nd of May...which was the day we boared the cruise. Needless to say we didn't get that email. So there we are..no excursion, only a little of spending cash on us, in a foriegn city, and hadn't ate anything...
We decided to make the best of it, caught another excursion that would tour us through old downtown Puerto Vallarta and then up to Cliff divers. To finish it off at a Tequila Factory. When we got back on the boat..we were very HUNGRY! Since the money that we took paid for the tour. Oh well we still had fun. But I would of loved to do the pirate thing! Maybe next time.
My thoughts on Puerto Vallarta might be different next time. I have heard from others like my dad that this was their favorite place and it was beautiful. I had a different prespective. But that might have been because of our craziness with the excursions. It was also the first time I have ever been in an area that is more poverty looking and poor area. It was hard for me to see the little shacks they called home, and the schools that looked like they were about to fall apart. It was truly an eye-opening experiance. So maybe another time P.V. won't seem so bad and won't be clouded with stress as well. Next time I will be a little more prepared for what I am going to see and encounter. It was fun to stop there, and hoping for an even better experiance next time.
Roped off and ready to port in Puerto Vallarta..Looks pretty huh! We were harbored over by the more modern and new downtown area. But toured the older side of P.V.
Enjoying some Coffee before its time to start our day in Puerto Vallarta.
Look how big it is....Our cruise ship

The Pirate ship we were suppose to take.....Sad!

Starting out our Tour with our guide David in Puerto Vallarta. First stop the boardwalk for a couple minutes

This was on the boardwalk. Apparently these are the real native Mexicans that they sit on top of this post and play music. Then at certains time they are attached by a rope to their leg and they jump off..the ropes are all twined up around the pole...so as they get closer to the bottom the ropes unwind..It was crazy to watch them. There is a story behind it, but I didn't catch it all the way.

Just starting...oh boy thats a LONG way down.

Getting closer to the bottom.

Senor Frogs is everywhere! But this one was the coolest one. See the frog on top...

Old downtown P.V. Notice the cobble stone roads. Also how the streets are built up. People have said it reminds them of Italy

Justin and I infront of a landmark in P.V. This rock island is called Los Arcos!

Justin is a true Mexican now :)

A small moutainous area where they have ziplining, cliff diving, horseback riding, and hiking. The Cabana area was a small restaurant as well. Most restaurants in Mexico was open like this.

Over looking the canyon and cliff diving area

Ok so we had to cross a few bridges while in P.V. Let me tell you this was scary! The worst one was down in the Flea market area. That one was actually a swinging board bridge. The guy behind me made it swing more..I about killed him! But this one was up at this cliff diver place. It was ok..a little scary. Justin said I was holding my arms out pretty funny and was trying to capture it on camera..he just missed it as I moved my hands.

A rock formation that is shaped like an Indian face

This was the cliff diver at this little mountain area, he did it 3 times, and on the 3rd he blind folded himself. I was amazed because he really didn't have all that much of space. It was a little nerve wracking to watch. But he did it!!

In mid flight..awesome shot huh!

As he gets closer to the water....

This Tequila factory is one of the oldest ones in Puerto Vallarta. Their Tequila is not made with artificial stuff, and a bunch of chemicals. They try to keep it as organic as possible. Our guide was Eric his family was from here, but he actually just got back from living in the states..at none other than Riverside for schooling. He was awesome and showed us everything about how they make their Tequila. Justin was in heaven with the tasting of course..ha ha

The Tequila factory we visited. It was really cool how it was made.

Watching the Pineapple get ready to be roasted for Tequila

On of the oldest churches in Old downtown Puerto Vallarta

The board walk in Puerto Vallarta..gorgeous water, amazing statues, and awesome sand sculptures..what more could you ask for?

Along the board walk there was also sand sculptures. This one was amazing...The Last Supper!

The water was so Blue in Puerto Vallarta. It was pretty warm as well. I had to go and at least dip my toes in it.

Have to rep the club while on vaca!! =SunSet=

Celebrating 10 years of Marriage in Puerto Vallarta!

The day we were in Puerto Vallarta was Cinco De Mayo (May 5th) celebration. So they had a mexican buffet on the lido deck and also a Mariachi band that played around the ship. This was in front of the dinning room.

Puerto Vallarta at night, as we were leaving and going to our next stop Matzalan

Where ever you go there is always a Wal-Mart. This was across the street from the Harbor. Made me feel alittle at home..ha ha They also placed the Sams Club right next to it...they were connected. Wouldn't that be nice?
