In Memory of Grandma

So this morning my little sister called me to give me some bad news. Our loving Grandma Iris, passed away peacefully in her sleep early in the morning. It has been an overwhelming day, getting this piece of sad news and then having to prepare to head back to Utah. It hasn't hit quite home yet, that this is real, and I am sure it won't until I am there with my family. I loved her so much and she was an amazing woman. I lived about 7 miles away from her until I graduated highschool. I spent almost every weekend at her house and always enjoyed listening to her sarcastic comments that she could throw at ya. She was very stubborn, but always was there when you needed her.

My kids loved her so much. They enjoyed staying at her house, playing with her toys, and eating her cookies. She always had cookies for the grandkids and great grandkids. Ky, especially, I know will have a tough time with this. She loved calling Grandma Beth and asking how Granny Great was, and always asking to talk to her.

We love you Grandma, and you will be truly missed. But we know you are much happier now and safe up in heaven with Grandpa. Love you!

New Haircut

So I decided that the Blonde was just to much to keep up with. So I went back to brown, and then had a haircut as well.

Today Angie came over and hung out. I wasn't feeling the best, I have been fighting a cold. So she thought it would be nice to do my hair for a change. She flat ironed it for me and it turned out so cute! Justin came home and said "Sexy".

Gifts from Grandma

Grandma Corinne gave these cute hats to the girls for Christmas. They love them. Of course Kylee and Chelsey say they remind them of "Harvard Girl" meaning Elle Woods in Legally Blonde. The girls love their cute hats

She also gave them leggings to match. They are so stylish!!

A New Year..A New Me!

So this year my baby sister will be graduating from High School. Some of you I am sure would be saying "Is she already that old?" Answer is yes she is! I can't believe it myself. Well I have made a commitment with myself to look a whole lot skinnier..come May! So I have already started my weight loss. I jumped on it right away. I was so happy that I have already gotten back into a pair of jeans that I haven't worn for several years. I kept them because they were one of my favorite. You know those pair of jeans that you just can't give up. Yep these are the ones. But hopefully by May they will be too big! Wish me Luck!

Turning a frown upside down

So the last couple days have just those type of days were eveything seemed gloomy. Nothing seemed to be going right, and the girls were just so upbeat and active that I couldn't keep up with them. But I decided to do soemthing that I knew would put a smile on my face and the little ones would love. I got out my hair stuff, and brang it into the living room, and then put on a movie. I then sat Issy and Kylee down in front of me and did their hair while they got to watch their movie. That way they weren't scared of the curling iron, because they couldn't see it in the mirror. Plus I got them to settle down enough to curl their hair real cute. I put Issy's into loose ringlets and then curled up Ky's. Kylee loves having her hair done, it shows her that her shorter hair can be just as cute!

It was now time to get Chelsey from school, so as we walked down to the school, I brought my camera and snapped some pictures of them. If any of you know my kids..they love having their picture taken. They will pose like little models for you. Then when I got home while Issy was napping, and Chelsey did her homework. I played on my photo editor program. Having their hair so stinkin' cute and getting adorable pictures turned my day around and I felt much better. Here is my finished product

New Years with Great Friends

Well its a whole new year and it started with a great time with some close friends. I wanted to take a few minutes and reflect back on this last year. It has been a great year, we have made some close friends that we will become even closer to in the future. The kids have all grown some more. Kylee turned 4 and keeps us laughing. Chelsey turned 8, and entered the 3rd grade. It started out a little rocky, but I think she is finding her place. Last but not least Isabella turned 3 and had a great birthday with some close friends to help celebrate. She is potty trained now and we are very excited to be done with diapers. Yay! As for Justin and I we are both happy and doing well. Justin has been lucky to keep working with the slowness of the economy. We have made some trips back to see family and friends. We have watched close friends get married, have babies, and watch my lil sis turn into lady. She had her junior prom this last year and she was gorgeous! Justin also got to reminice on memories with his high school friends. They had their 10 yr reunion and we had so much fun attending that. Our holidays were filled with love and fun. As for this next year...I can't wait to see how it goes. I am sure it will be just as great.

For new years we had some close friends come celebrate with us. We invited Angie, Amy & Kevin and their kids. We also invited our other friends Kris and A.J. But due to them moving, they caught a bad cold and had to decline to get better. The kids all partied and played with their toys. They watched movies and ate junk food. We set up a slumber party in Chelsey's room and they all just had a great time. While us adults stayed out in the front room and kitchen. We mostly just chatted, and Justin made his awesome home-made pizza. Then a little later we played some games. The kids stayed up to bring in the new year with us, and were so excited to watch the ball drop. All in all it was a great time, and something we will look back and remember.

Toasting to a great new year and some great friends.

The kids watching the ball drop. They were very happy and on a sugar high. How we ever got them to sleep..I have no idea..ha ha

Miss Angie all dolled up. I cut about 7 inches off her hair and then layered it all up. To finish I flat ironed it and left a little curl, so she was ready for the new year with a new look.

A new year with some new friends. We haven't know Kevin and Amy for too long. But already we have made some memories that will last. We have alot of similairities and even our kids have become great friends. Can't wait for more memories to come!

We are always having a blast with these two.

The girls chattin' and gigglin' away!
