Mexican Riviera Cruise

On May 2nd we boarded our first cruise for our 10th Anniversary. We went for a 7 day cruise down the Mexican Riviera. We had 2.5 days at sea and then stopped in Puerto Vallarta for a day, Matzalan for a day, and Cabo San Lucas for half a day. Then headed home for Long Beach spending 1.5 days at sea. It was so much fun, I had a blast and it was very relaxing. The food was awesome! I will break down my posts for the 3 stops we made and stuff. Otherwise it would be one LONG post..ha ha. We were on the Carnival Splendor. Its the largerst cruise ship in the West and started sailing In July of 2008. Its fairly new. It holds 3006 people with 1150 crew members. Its very family friendly having zones for different kid ages, and a small water area with them. As well as a slide. It has 4 pools, and 5 hot tubs. It also had a miniature golf course and a small walking track around the carnival stacks. It was amazing and suggest a cruise to anyone. Hope you have fun viewing over our trip :)

Justin is boarding his first cruise and can't wait.

Boarding my first cruise and heading to the Mexican Riviera

GOODBYE U.S.

A look into the room from the door side

Ok so I blinked..but this is a look at our room from the porthole side

I think Justin is ready

Here we go!

There was a water slide on the boat. Also up by the round balls was a miniature golf course

A look from one of the higher decks..you see the AFT part of the Lido deck and then us leaving Long Beach Harbor...GoodBye

Long Beach Coast Guard leading us out of the harbor...we are leaving Long Beach and starting our cruise...woohooo!!!

Our Porthole in our room. It was pretty big!

A look into the Dining Room.

Our second day on the cruise and just trying to fgure out the ship and everything while enjoying the view

Our Cruise Director "Goose". He hosted most events on the cruise and kept us laughing. There was so much to do and I feel like we only made it to half the events..ha ha

One of the events was The Love Game Show. They took 3 couples from different areas of marriage..from the honeymooners to 37 years of marriage and then 57 years of marriage. They answered 10 questions total..5 for male and 5 for female and then had to see if their answer compared to their spouses. This was so HILARIOUS to watch.

Looking down from deck 5. This is where alot of the lounges and dance areas was. El Morocco, The Cool, The Piano Bar, and the Red Carpet. As we look down it show the entrances to both levels of the Gold Pearl Dining Room..where we ate every night for dinner.

A look into the Morocco Lounge. The couches were all Zebra material...which I loved! They did alot of karokee in here and some other activities like the farwell party and also some adult comedian acts.

A look into the Piano Bar Lounge. An awesome Pianist was always playing in there. You could go in and join him.

The "Cool Lounge" It was more for jazz music and such for people to hang out at.

Just one look at some of the delicious food we had. The desserts were AMAZING!!

Enjoying a snack on the Lido deck together. The Lido had a couple different parts to it. The front and back section had Buffet areas that you mostly ate at during the day. They always had pretty good food there. Pizza, and Frozen Yogurt was available 24/7. The middle part of the Lido consisted of a pool and Huge projector screen also tables to sit and watch all the fun. This is where the Belly Flop competition and some others was located.

When you sat and at on the Lido deck, you could sit by the windows and watch as you sailed on. It was a gorgeous view.

The Dining Room Staff singing to us for the first time while on the cruise. It was Awesome and only got better as the cruise continued

The First floor of our Gold Pearl Dinind Room. We are also watching the waiters entertain us.

First Elegant Night on the cruise. Look I got Justin to actually wear a suit..ha ha.

The Baja California Coast

I am looking at the first piece of land since we left Long Beach on Sunday. This is the Baja California Coast. Cabo San Lucas is located just on the other side of it. We passed there and went down to Puerto Vallarta and then worked our way back up.

Justin enjoying a day at sea

The Mens belly flop contest. They were funny to watch and sounded painful at times too. Tim from Chico, California won.

Our waiters preforming for us. Sometimes they would add on different accessories and change t up for their preformance. We had so much fun watching them.
